On December 31, 2024, Borsheim Crane had the honor of helping preserve a piece of history! 🚂 A caboose, once used as a tool shed in the BNSF yard in Dilworth, MN, was headed for scrap until one gentleman stepped in. Remembering it from his childhood, he couldn’t let it go to waste. He purchased it for scrap value, ensuring its story would live on. Our team carefully lifted the caboose off the rails and transported it to his home in Grandin, ND. He was onsite every step of the way, ensuring any parts that needed disassembly could be preserved for restoration. Special thanks to Terry Whitmer for sharing these amazing pictures and the heartwarming story behind the project. His passion for preserving this piece of history is inspiring!
